We also hope that you, your families and all other loved once’s are safe and healthy but we also realize that, due to the information we do receive every day via the media, that it is not realistic to think that this virus doesn’t affect the billiard community. Without any doubt the Billiard community, which does include the EPBF family, will be affected in some shape and form. For those who are affected we do feel sympathy and, in our minds, we will be with you and hope that you can get all the strength that you need to overcome your losses.
In the past period the EPBF board did try to take decisions about the cancellations and / or postponement of events, by taking into account the decisions of governments in Europe, organizers of the announced events and by using common sense. This did lead so far to the cancellation / postponement of the “Dynamic Billard European Championships Women, Men, U23 & Wheelchair Athletes” and the “Predator Euro Tour Women Tampere Open” & the “Dynamic Billard Euro Tour Men Tampere Open” which should be held in Tampere / Finland. Due to the current situation it is now also decided that the Euro Tour Women “Predator St. Johann im Pongau Open” presented by Ballazzo & the Euro Tour Men “Dynamic Billard St. Johann Open” presented by Snowspace Salzburg, are definitely postponed and therefore will not be held in June 2020.
This means that at this moment the next planned events at our calendar are the Dynamic Billiard European Championships U17, U19 and Girls in combination with the ET Men “Dynamic Billard Petrich Open” & the ET Women “Predator Petrich Open” to be held in Petrich / Bulgaria.
As you can see at our EPBF sports calendar it is mentioned quit a few times “postponed” behind events. The amount of cancelled and/or postponed events around the world is enormous. In case that all these events want to find new dates in 2020, it goes without saying that there will be collisions of dates. There is simply not enough space to re-schedule all these cancelled / postponed events in the second half of 2020. Of course, we don't know how long the current situation will last so that is also an unknown factor in the decision making. However. The EPBF board together with their hosts, will try whatever is possible to at least re-schedule their events before it is decided to cancel the event definitely. With this letter we want to update you what the situation is.
Here the overview:
If the European Championships will be held as mentioned above it does mean that all European Championships 2020 will be hosted.
All the information with regards to the Euro Tour does mean that if the program can be held as mentioned above, it would mean that the year 2020 does contain at the end of the year:
a. 4 Euro Tour Men Events
b. 4 Euro Tour Women Events
We will soon change the EPBF Sports calendar at the website epbf.com.
This does conclude the events Update 2020 for this moment.
We will send the next update as soon as we do have information to share.
Hope this all suites and we wish you all the best, stay safe and healthy.
On behalf of the EPBF Board,
Gre Leenders, President EPBF
